Music Video: Wiz Khalifa – “Black And Yellow”

Posted by T. Adeyemi on October 11, 2010

“Reppin my Town, when you see me you know everything, Black & Yellow…”

Pittsburgh, PA’s own Wiz Khalifa released his latest video over weekend, in which he displays the different facets of his town. Pittsburgh’s steel mill tough mentality have always been front and center. Whether you’re talking about they’re notoriously supportive but gritty Steelers fans or the middle-class blue-collar workers that make up the core of P-Town they have never lacked toughness.

Khalifa’s rise to prominence exemplifies the mindset of his hometown. By taking the independent route he took a working man’s approach to establishing a fan base. Now with the release of his debut album on Atlantic Records steadily approaching in early 2011, Khalifa hasn’t lost his grassroots feel. Read the rest of this entry »

The Kid Frankie Video

Posted by servontaym on May 25, 2010

The new way to get your foot into the door and create a fan base is the Mixtape. Drake might have had the ultimate blueprint for this with So Far Gone. Now other artist are taking this same way to claim their fame. The new artist to try this is XXL freshman  Wiz Khalifa with Kush and Orange Juice. Now the Kid from Pittsburg has visuals for the Song Kid Frankie off of his last mixtape Kush and Orange Juice. Now the question is will Wiz give us an album this summer or wait?

The King

Posted by servontaym on April 15, 2010

Two mix tapes dropped yesterday one Wiz Khalifa’Kush & Orange Juice and then Waka Flocka Lebron Flocka James pt 2. By the afternoon yesterday whispers from the Grand Hustle crew came out of a mix tape out of the camp. No not Young Dro or a Lil Duval mix tape but the King T.I. Even though yesterday from his twitter account he posted Fuck a mix tape.  When I first seen it I thought T.I was strictly working on his album that is supposed to be released in August. Then this video trailer comes out posted by DJ Drama the mix tape king. This mix tape will be something to listen to because I know Clifford Harris has a lot to say after being in jail for almost a year. Now which mix tape will come out first Jeezy Trap or Die 2 or T.I Fuck A Mixtape?

Wiz Khalifa – “Kush & Orange Juice” Mixtape

Posted by T. Adeyemi on April 14, 2010

This one goes out to all the beautiful girls weed heads. Apparently, Wiz Khalifa has finally followed through on his promise of a morning supplement of sorts. So for all of you that fill my timeline every morning with “wake & bake” tweets here’s something to assist your daily routine.

Personally, I’ve never subscribed to the herbal essences…just really never saw the benefit. But I am prone to smoking a black & mild once in a while assisted by some chill music. With that in mind my download has just completed, and I too shall jettison off into the clouds of smoke. (Where’s my incense?)

DJ Soundwave x Wiz Khalifa – Fourth Meal

Posted by T. Adeyemi on April 6, 2010

The Big Homie DJ Soundwave has come through once again with a mix worthy of listening too with only the finest of substances. After chilling with Wiz Khalifa post their stage appearances at Club 930 in D.C. the two came together like, peanut butter and jelly Kush and Orange Juice to create this prequel to Wiz’s next offering “Kush x OJ.” As a newly interested follower of Khalifa I think DJ Soundwave said it best as to the reasoning behind this compilation, “I saw that so many people couldn’t wait to wake up to their Kush x OJ that I had to provide something to hold you over.”

Make sure you check out my man DJ Soundwave on the scene in D.C. or slide by his website, (I’ve always thought that was a very fitting title for a DJ.) And for more from the Pittsburgh native stay tuned right here or hit up his Twitter page.

Music Review: Curren$y – “Smokee Robinson”

Posted by Okla Jones on February 12, 2010

It’s been four years since his smash single “Where Da Cash At” which featured Lil’ Wayne and Remy Ma, and I’m sure the world was awaiting an album release. However, due to financial and creative differences with Weezy, Spitta opted out of his contract, and left the record label that he had called home for over two summers. Read the rest of this entry »

Curren$y’s Tip For Healthy Weed Smoking (by J. Tinsley)

Posted by T. Adeyemi on January 29, 2010

Photo: Dre Eastwood

I took away two things from this clip: the music and the knowledge. Next Sunday is definitely going to be super for more than one reason. Aside from Colts/Saints, Curren$y and Don Cannon’s long-awaited collaboration, Smokee Robinson, invades speakers for the first time. Spitta, Wiz and Nip recently had a studio session for the project which included good weed and even better music. From the sounds of things, it seems to already be a front runner for the standout record.

Now, the knowledge. With the scent of kush and sour diesel permanently settled in the studio, the three cannabis connoisseurs discuss smoking habits. A blunt man himself, Hussle, takes in words of wisdom from Curren$y who warns about the dangers of blunts. Ever wonder why Nip always looks tired? Because he smokes blunts, not papers, according to the Mythblazers.

Not to be confused with the urban legend I Can’t Feel My Face of Juelz Santana and Lil’ Wayne, former Young Money standout, Curren$y, has his own collaborative project well underway with Wiz Khalifa, “How Fly”. Truth be told, chances are the tape will be nothing short of a quotable filled audio marijuana high as indicated in the picture above.
