"The Decision" of a Career

“The Decision” of a Career

One commodity that hasn’t seen any kind of shortage since “The Recession” started has been opinions. Everyone still has their originals about everything pre-Recession, and more than likely have added plenty to the list since then. When it comes to the NBA it’s no different. Although it seems this season many more non-basketball fans have had their opinions in regards to one LeBron James and his infamous Decision. Well guess what, LeBron apparently heard them all and he has a little something to say about it. Retirement Home

Posted by servontaym on July 16, 2010

I thought I had heard it all when Lebron said he was going to South Beach to join D Wade and Chris Bosh. It gets even crazier you remember the guy Anfernee Hardaway might know him as Penny Hardaway well he has come out of retirement. And the first team he wants to play for is the Miami Heat, I wonder why?   The last time I checked Penny had bad knees and  couldn’t make it happen for the Magic back in 98 and Nike packaged little Penny up. I guess you have to do whatever it takes to get you a ring. Look what you started Mr. James now everybody wants to come to Miami. The only good thing that comes from this is Nike starts making Lil Penny and Lebron James puppet commercials.

“Does LT still have it?…”

Posted by Okla Jones on February 22, 2010

LT doing what he does best... or is it "did" best?

I for one, have been a fan of LaDainian Tomlinson since his days as a Horned Frog at TCU. Hell, he was damn near unstoppable on Gamebreaker and NCAA, but that was about a decade ago. Time has passed, records have been broken, and earlier today the San Diego Chargers released the former face of its franchise. It’s crazy because LT is only two years removed from being the best runner in the NFL, both talent-wise, as well as statistically. Since 2007, his numbers and his health have been on a steady decline, but the question is “Does LT have anything left in the tank?” Read the rest of this entry »

“Kobe?… Lebron?…”

Posted by Okla Jones on February 3, 2010

“I used to play Kobe, now I play Lebron…”Young Jeezy

The current NBA season has been remarkable for both of the men previously stated. With Lebron and Kobe’s squads having the best records in the league (respectively), both men are blazing paths to becoming two of the greatest players that the National Basketball Association has ever produced. James is the most athletically gifted player to ever lace a pair of sneakers, but KB’s drive and determination is only surpassed by “His Airness”. The mammoth of a marketing scheme designed by the people at Nike has drawn even more attention to the healthy competition of the Black Mamba and The King, but the real question in everyone’s mind is: “Who is truly the better basketball player?”

Now, in terms of accolades, championships and success in clutch situations, Kobe definitely puts himself on the top of the list. But now that age slowly creeps up on this future Hall of Famer, when it’s all said an done, will Lebron emerge as the better of the two? The savior of Cleveland is only 25 years of age, with an entire career ahead of him and for the past few seasons, the Eastern Conference is not what it used to be. After the Black Mamba dons the #24 jersey for the final time, will that championship trophy that has eluded LBJ be his for the taking for years to come. Read the rest of this entry »

MVPuppets Are Back: Lebron & Kobe vs Blitzen x Lebron VII Mystery

Posted by Mr. Put On on December 20, 2009

Vodpod videos no longer available.

The Highlight of the NBA Season has arrived, as earlier this month, the first video of the Lebron vs. Kobe Nike Commercials was released. Last season this was the talk of everyone I know. Personally, I don’t watch TV too often, but I know I scoured You Tube on an almost daily basis to find the next one. Now, Nike has released four of the commercials, including the one above.

The one just below is the latest release and takes on the Christmas spirit with Lupe Fiasco playing as Rudolph. The remainder are part 1 and 2 of the “Who Stole Lebron’s shoe” subliminally marketing the brand new Nike Lebron VII. Look out for more of these, and check out the ones below. "Getting Rid Of The Evidence…"

Posted by J. Tinsley on July 9, 2009

It happened to Jordan.

It happened to Kobe.

Call it “protecting their investment”, but for whatever reason Nike had a padlock on the footage that shows Xavier sophomore, Jordan Crawford, dunking on LeBron James. And quite frankly, my life has been a living hell ever since.

While La La Land went nutso today for the Lakers parade, Nike, with the assistance of YouTube, let loose of basically everything left in the stash as far as the Kobe/LeBron puppet commercials were concerned.  All in all, it was one of the more memorable campaigns constructed by any brand, so a big congratulations is in order for the greatest shoe company ever invented.

And just my luck, as I go to post this, TSS beat me to the punch. Bastards.

(Not really.)
