Jay-Z On MC Hammer: “I Didn’t Know I Was The First Person To Say That.”

Posted by J. Tinsley on November 3, 2010

Funny how @MCHammer is dissing Jay-Z, meanwhile, Hov bigs him up in his book, Decoded.B. Dot

For those that don’t know, Rap Radar’s own B. Dot recently cross the burning sands and became the newest member of the Illuminati. While that previous statement was a joke, he did call it damn near verbatim. Jay-Z sat down with Semtex for an interview on a list of topics. The number one surrounding Hov at the moment involves MC Hammer and his “diss” video, if you want to call it that.

The following audio clip is Shawn’s take on the entire nonsense.

J. Cole Talks Quality Of Music & Expectations In London

Posted by J. Tinsley on July 6, 2010

Vodpod videos no longer available.

October 26 will be a big moment. That’s the day J. Cole comes full circle with his debut album, (insert-whatever-name-you-think-it-is-because-he-hasn’t-released-that-yet). Until then, it’s long nights and even shorter days as he literally runs around the world promoting its release. While traveling across the pond with Jay-Z for the Wireless Festival, the pride and joy of Fayetteville (who was actually born in Germany) caught up with the OG, Semtex. After the more formal in studio interview (and freestyle) the night before, Sem took Cole on a tour throughout the streets of London which including food and shoe shopping.

They also speak about the quality of the The Warm Up and how it compared to albums. The most intriguing part of the interview actually came from Semtex himself, however. He referred to Cole’s upcoming project as a mix of Illmatic and College Dropout. We’ll all make our own assumptions once we hear the project, but talk about expectations.

After the jump, view footage of Cole speaking certain tracks off his new album. Read the rest of this entry »

Asher Roth–Song Cry Freestyle

Posted by J. Tinsley on February 27, 2009

While in the land of Beckham (UK), Asher stopped by chop it up with DJ Semtex.  The end result was him lacing a dope freestyle over Jay-Z’s “Song Cry”.  Ok, I think one more post before I leave the office might do it.  Ben, you gotta hold it down this weekend.

YK with the assist.

DJ Semtex Interviews Kardinal Offishall

Posted by Mr. Put On on January 31, 2009

DJ Semtex and Kardinal Offishall chop it up about Dr. Dre, Detox and Drizzy Drake Rodgers after his show at the O2. Seems like Kardinal has something in the works for Drake, ut oh. They also talk about Dre hopping on the Set It Off Remix, which was a hot track IMO.

Wale–Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes Freestyle

Posted by J. Tinsley on January 26, 2009

The legendary DJ Semtex liberated this not too long ago from one of hip-hop’s most promising (and one of my favorite) artists.  Short but sweet, but any new Wale is appreciated. Good to see they squashed their brief misunderstanding.
