Cee-Lo Invokes His Right to Free Speech – “F*ck You” Video

Posted by T. Adeyemi on September 1, 2010

Now if you’re one of those people who’s generally offended by aggressive language then I suggest you just keep on clicking right past this post. But if you’re not against a few choice words every now and then, you have certainly found what you’re looking for.

Cee Lo has made an entire career out of being more than edgy and at times a bit over the top. His willingness to leap with both feet outside of the norm has been well documented since his time as frontman for the Goodie Mob. More recently Cee Lo (Thomas DeCarlo Callaway) found platinum success as the vocalist of the electic and multi-dimensional group Gnarls Barkley. The group’s 2006 single “Crazy” of their debut album St. Elsewhere became a springboard for the evolutionary sound that Cee Lo has made his signature.

The one constant from this ATLien has always been his far from average visuals for his unique sound. Now with the release of the video for his latest single “F*ck You” he reminds us of what a true music video can be without relying solely on a green screen to create scenery. Amongst the 1950’s aura Cee Lo paints the picture of a young man broken-hearted over the materialistic mindset of his love interest. It may be safe to assume some of these kids either are his family or their parents are huge fans because their lipsinking is a little too perfect.

Before you lose your morals after pressing play, word is that Cee Lo plans to release an edited version of the track to air on radio, cable, and probably the edited version of his upcoming album Lady Killer. “Forget You” is rumored to be the fill in for his soon to be infamous song.

Vodpod videos no longer available.
