Drake Conjures The Ghost Of Dwayne Carter

Posted by J. Tinsley on August 20, 2010

The summer is almost over and Drake’s Thank Me Later is still one of the hottest releases. The third visual from the platinum selling LP is his Lil Wayne assisted, “Miss Me.” This was one of the better tracks from the album with Drake’s opening bar being one of the most infectious in recent memory.

About the video? Drake and the rest of the YM family put on while the vocals of Weezy rain over the train. It’s always weird watching a video with an artist who can’t shoot the video for whatever reasons. I still get chills watching Pac’s “Hail Mary” video to this. I wasn’t nearly as spooked out by Weezy’s part, but I’d be damned if I didn’t catch myself rhyming along. I’m not exactly the biggest fan of the video, but given the circumstances, I’ll deal with it. Plus, it’s not like I could do any better. Regardless, it doesn’t erase the fact the song is one of the best from the album.

Drizzy, if you ever come across this, “Show Me A Good Time” needs to be the next single. That’s homecoming music right there.
