Call It A Comeback: Dipset’s Reunion (by J. Tinsley)

Posted by T. Adeyemi on June 14, 2010

Best. News. Of. The. Year.

On Friday, at a construction site in Brooklyn, the big four, Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Freekey Zekey, all got together and filmed a video to show the world a unified front!

It didn’t happen at SummerJam last week (Juelz had his own set, Jimmy was blocked from the building and Cam surprised the crowd with Vado during DJ Khaled’s set) but that doesn’t meant that the wheels haven’t been turning in the same direction behind the scenes.

Jimmy’s track record at venues is well documented. Freeky Zekey recently sat down with XXL and shed light on way Capo was AWOL at Summer Jam.

“There’s no such thing as a half reunion. What happened is they didn’t let Jim in. I told Jim and Juelz we’ll meet up at the after party. [Jim’s] banned from, like, 90% of the venues in the tri-state area.”

Getting back to the reunion, however, this is exceptional. I’m all for mending relationships, but if this means new Diplomats music is around the corner, it’s a win-win for everybody. The construction aspect was obvious – they’re all working on re-building something that was a force to be reckoned with during the mid-2000’s. According to Info, the video from this construction site should be released soon.

Hopefully this means Hell Rell and The Heatmakerz will be brought back into the equation. The Heatmakerz are very important in all this. Vado, too.
