Fat Joe ft. Trey Songz – If It Ain’t About Money (by J. Tinsley)

Posted by Mr. Put On on May 25, 2010

Over the years, it has been common to see some refer to Fat Joe as all types of negative adjectives. Some of those  may warrant a valid reason, but some simply came off as blind hate. For the most part, Joey Crack is good for at the very least a banging single. His last album, J.O.S.E. 2, resulted in one of the worst in 2009, which is why I was glad to hear the Terror Squad general would be returning to his more “street” roots on on his new album The Darkside.

The joint with Jeezy is tough – a great street single type track to create some type of notice for the album. Now, the “official” single is upon us. Calling in a favor from Virginia connect Trey Songz, he and Joe let it be known that it’s still all about the money – recession or not. Joe’s definitely got a nice track heading into the summer which should land him some radio spins.

Having a Cool & Dre beat doesn’t hurt either. The Darkside hits shelves June 29.
