Boondocks returns May 2nd

Posted by GingerKiD on April 5, 2010

Look who’s returning just in time for the beginning of summer. Aaron McGruder’s award winning cartoon series the Boondocks returns to the airwaves on May the 2nd for it’s third and final season.

The Boondocks is an american cartoon series  created byMcGruder for the adult swim programming block of Cartoon Network, based upon McGruder’s comic strip. The Boondocks is a social satire of American culture and race relations (or stereotypes in the world), revolving around the lives of the Freeman family: ten-year-old Huey, his younger brother, eight-year-old Riley, and their grandfather, Robert.

While the show offers very blunt views on everything from the current state of hip hop, BET, the state of black films and politics some don’t agree with the shows use of the N-word. Despite it’s underlining message the show has been heavily criticized by black leaders, IE Rev Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson. None the less, the Boondocks is still a show the should be seen, you don’t always have to agree with McGruder’s message, but still listen to what’s really being sad.
