Another Light Extinguished: The Passing of Alexander McQueen

Posted by Ms. Aivee on February 11, 2010

Today the fashion world has suffered a devastating blow, the sudden death of designer Alexander McQueen. As is the case when anyone passes, it is more important to celebrate his life than obsess over his death. The beautiful thing about the loss of an artist like McQueen is we will always have the inspiring works of art he created to remember him by.

The British designer had a nearly 20 year career in fashion and was well-known for his extravagant runway shows and impeccable clothes. He has dressed everyone from Lady Gaga to Michelle Obama. The following is a pictorial tribute to the visionary designer

I am interested to see what happens at the upcoming fashion week, whether or not his upcoming fall 2010 collection will be shown and if the line with continue on or perish. Alexander McQueen was a truly special talent and a visionary whose absence leaves a major void in the fashion world.
