Back to The Basics

Posted by servontaym on February 2, 2010

For the last 5 Games Carmelo Anthony has been on the bench wit his Bow-tie on due to a bum ankle. But even with out one of the top scorers in the league the Nuggets have still continued to keep their spot in the West going 4-1 without Anthony in the line up.  But then I began to wonder could other teams be like the Nuggets and continue to win without their star player in the line up? If the Cavaliers lost their commander in Chief Lebron James for some time due to injury the Cavs would be in the NBA lottery fighting for Kentucky’s John Wall. And if we went Back out west to the Defending champs Los Angles Lakers they would probably still make the playoffs but not to the championship like accustomed to with out the Black Mamba Kobe Bryant.  But we all know Mr. Bryant wont let any injury hold him back from going down as the best to ever play.

With all this being said what happened to Teams winning championships and being Dominant. In this generation there are a bunch of amazing players but no amazing teams that everybody is scared to play like the  Celtics when Bill Rusell Larry Bird and Tiny Archibauld were all on the team. You can even go back to more recent time when the Pistons won in 2004 with Rasheed Wallace, Richard Hamilton, Chauncey Bulliups, Tayshaun Prince and Ben Wallace.

Now with the all star break approaching with the playoffs in the near future the saying ” There is no I in Team” might prove right this year.
