The Michael Vick Project (by J. Tinsley)

Posted by T. Adeyemi on January 25, 2010

Mistakes are apart of life. It’s really no way to avoid them, you just hope when you make one it doesn’t ruin the remainder of your life. Enter Michael Vick. Without repeating the saga that was his dog fighting case, this was one of those mistakes which could have ruined not only Vick’s career, but ultimately his life as well. Think about it, prior to the case Vick had signed one of the largest contracts in all of sports and was arguably the league’s most popular player. His jersey was close to impossible to keep on shelves and, for what it’s worth, he was the most exciting player to use on Madden.

After the allegations became public, the image he fought so hard to create for himself came crashing down in a matter of seconds. Some called it pure ignorance, while others called it a penalty of fame. After paying his debt to society, Vick went on to play his first season back with the Philadelphia Eagles to a relatively quiet season. In conjunction with BET, “The Michael Vick Project” will be told by those who know who know the quarterback personally, including himself.

The show airs on BET February 2 at  10 p.m.
