J. Cole Leaves His Mark On Philly During Sneaker Pimps Tour

Posted by J. Tinsley on August 10, 2009

With all due respect to the rapper/singer/actor from Toronto (who is well on his way to becoming a superstar), J. Cole happens to be my favorite “rookie” from the class of 2009. Last month, I had a chance to meet dude at the D.C. stop of the Sneaker Pimps tour. As evident in his music, Cole is as down to earth and humble as you can get for a rising music sensation. We spoke briefly about our birth states (him being from Fayetteville and me being born in Salisbury) and our tape we released two weeks before “The Warm Up.”

Anywho, Cole recently performed in Philly and from all the texts and tweets I received, he tore the house down. Above is the visual to accommodate my statement. I personally wish nothing but the best for Cole and the entire Dreamville movement as they progress further in their maturation.

Big shout out to my Dreamville homies, Ibrahim and Elite, by the way. Below is part II of Cole’s invasion of the “City of Brotherly Love.”
