Collie Buddz – "Eyez" x "Now She's Gone"

Posted by J. Tinsley on July 9, 2009

I’ve never been a big fan of reggae. Aside from Bob Marley and a few other artists, whenever it came on at a house party usually signaled check out time. Maybe it’s because I’ve never really taken the time to truly appreciate the culture (aside from a few aspects), but whatever the reason may be, I’ve never found myself anticipating new music from the genre.

That is, other than Collie Buddz.

Probably starting around 2006 with his hit single “Come Around”, I’ve always found myself checking for new music from the 27 year old from Bermuda since then. Its always served as therapeutic medicine as most of the time I’d listen to his 2007 self titled debut and zone out (which still gets play from time to time).

Maybe that’s what a great majority of the music does. One of these days I’ll get around to opening my ear to more artist, but until then I’ll stick with the man who had the best verse on Yung Berg’s debut while adding these tracks to my collection.
