"It Runs In The Family…"

Posted by J. Tinsley on June 27, 2009

While a select few continue to hold on to the dream in which Jack Nickalus is still “greatest of all time”, the rest of the free world has already given Tiger the honor and moved on with their lives (no disrespect to Jack, however). Considering everything goes according to plan, the LPGA may soon encounter the same “problem” the men’s district has been facing since the late ’90’s.

A ‘Woods’ dominating the sport.

In a dream world, Tiger’s 18-year-old niece, Cheyenne, could be the next cash-cow athlete..when she graduates from Wake Forest in three years. The 93rd ranked college golfer was able to compete in the Wegmans LPGA Tour event due to a sponsor’s exemption. Although flashes of greatness were shown, the younger Woods was unable to make the cut with a score of +5.

“I could have made a couple more birdies — or not as many bogeys — but I’m happy,” said Woods. “Three more years at Wake Forest and then hopefully I’ll be back out here.”

Due to her age, I don’t feel pedophilish when I say she’s definitely cute, but seeing as how Tiger is as big as an offensive lineman now, chances are I’d never mention that to his face. On the flip side, not that this has anything to do with anything, but for comparison purposes only, her uncle missed the cut in his first PGA Tour event (as an amateur) with a score of +5 in 1992. I’m just sayin’.

Regardless, I hope and pray she ends up better than the last hyped up female golfer.
