Damn, this is tough. While on a flight back from Atlanta, I read through a magazine in which a subscriber wrote to the editor detailing their personal experience with Fawcett. Ten years ago, the subscriber and his wife had a seven year old daughter afflicted with cancer whose dying wish was to meet the former “Charlie’s Angel’s” star. Unknown to any media, Fawcett took the young girl out doing several activities with her, most of which I honestly can’t remember. To make a long story short, the girl died a week later and Fawcett not only paid for the funeral, but kept in contact with the parents for ten years.

It’s stories like that which allow you to still hold on to the fact their are good people left in the world. Minutes ago, Fawcett lost her three year battle with cancer with family and friends by her side in Los Angeles.

Barbara Walters said close family and friends including long-time companion Ryan O’Neal were gathering at Fawcett’s hospital bedside in Los Angeles.

“This is all he wants to do is be with her,” Walters said of O’Neal.

Earlier this week it was revealed that O’Neal planned to marry Fawcett, who has been battling anal cancer for three years.

“I’ve asked her to marry me, again, and she’s agreed,” an emotional O’Neal told Walters in excerpts of an interview to be broadcast Friday.

Asked to describe Fawcett’s current health condition, O’Neal replied: “She’s fighting for her life.”

Deep stuff.

R.I.P. Miss Fawcett.
