LAKERS Do Late Night on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Posted by T. Adeyemi on June 20, 2009

As you all know I am a tremendous Los Angeles Lakers fan, and with their continuing success as a franchise I think its only fitting that we (CollegeRadio) continue to celebrate their championship. If you’re not a Lakers fan, then hey feel free to skip right over this post and any others focusing on one of the greatest franchises in all of sports. Maybe the greatest, but we won’t go there in the sake of not inciting an uproar.

However, everyone knows that every major sports team after winning their respective championship goes on the usual television promo tour. Well, one of the Lakers first stops was to The Jimmy Kimmel Live show last night. It was nice to see a good mixture of starters and reserves, especially with the likes of J. Tinsley’s favorite player Dj Mbenga.

Kobe seemed extra charismatic, something so many critics of his say he is not. In watching this video of Kobe finally maybe getting some of the long overdue credit he deserves it got me to thinking. In watching a man so overwhelmed with the sense of joy in his & his teammates accomplishment, how could it be that so many people despise Kobe Bryant? As I pondered about this while enjoying a fresh glass of half & half (If you’re not from the south you probably don’t know what I’m talking about.) I came across several reasons as to why basketball enthusiast and even the occasional NBA viewer could under appreciate a guy that works so hard to be the best. Thus, I decided to begin a 5 part series debuting June 22nd on the Top 5 reasons people dislike Kobe Bryant.

Make sure you check the site for each day’s article on the reasons people love to hate Kobe, and in the meantime hit the jump for Part 2 of the Lakers Jimmy Kimmel interview.

  1. I mean, let’s be perfectly honest here. Having Kobe on there was cool and all, but the ratings…THE REAL RATINGS…are credited to one man..DJ “Congo” Mbenga.

That’s right, show my man his just due.
