Don’t get me wrong, the 2009 Kanye West is a grossly talented artist who continues to push the boundaries of creativity to new heights with every bar he spits, record he produces or statement makes with fashion or his blog. Simply put, Kanye’s a legend already if he decided to quit and move to Sri Lanka and become a monk and never be heard from again. However, there’s a certain sense of fulfillment I get whenever I hear Kanye from yesteryear.

You know, the Kanye that used to the bear as his mascot. Yeah, that guy was my dude. Polos and backpacks was all he needed in his life of trying to survive in the industry.  Which is exactly why I was so thrilled when Andrew got his hands on some previously unreleased Kanye material from the College Dropout era.

The  first features Kanye, Bump J and Sly Polaroid spazzing over The Game “Put You On The Game” instrumental. This track had been previously liberated, but never without a DJ until now. Do yourself a favor and add this to your collection as all three obliterate the track.

The second is from Chicago R&B vocalist Kamilah Summer who allows a young Mr. West to ride shotgun. Recorded five years ago in New York City, this Kanye verse was never known to have existed to the masses until recent liberation. No need to worry however, Kanye was still cocky as ever with lines like:

Just like high school, back in my school
Just like Halloween, minus the costumes
A n*gga that’s flickin’ be the  one that’s trickin’
Girls that’s two-seatin’ be the one’s that treatin’
Through a test or relationships, everybody’s cheatin’
I used to want the Jordan’s most recent
Throw Jordan’s on the truck now just to look decent
