It’s coolin’ down outside and DJ Marvalous is still bringin the heat. His latest compilations is called SpacePod and has songs from T.I., Young Dro, Lil Wayne, and Gucci Mane to Big K.R.I.T, Wiz Khalifa, Wale, Blake Kelly, and Jo Stunnah.
So I know you’ve been awaiting the latest addition to DJ Marvalous’ Panty Droppa Collection; well I know I have. Panty Droppas continues to be a staple in my late night music collection. Works like a charm too (ehem!).
This time around Marv has decided to infuse the tape with your favorite Hip Hop artists and their odes to Love, Sex, Magic etc. Im currently taking off my cool, and enjoying the tape as you read this. So let me stop delaying myself and get back to the sounds.
Don’t thank me this time, thank the man himself, DJ Marvalous. I’m just putting you on, as usual.
Look, I’m a big fan of The Boondocks. I’ll even admit I never actually read the comic strip until after the first season. Backwards, I know. That being said, Aaron McGruder is alright in my book and I’ll support damn near anything the guy does. For the most part, a lot of the comments regarding this season were somewhat lukewarm. Either you liked all the installments or you figured McGruder’s creative inspiration was running thin thus justifying the end to this controversial cartoon.

Oh so you thought the Model of the Month was no more?? “Gone for a minute, now [we’re] back with the Jump off.” Just kidding, but just when you thought it was over we’re bringing it back with a new Grade Amodel of the month. I hope you’re ready for her. It’s been a while and you’ve been anxiously waiting (thanks for the patience).
This month’s Grade A Model of the Month is well versed, greatly accomplished and definitely deserves it. The “Hatian Beauty”– Marie Blanchard is a carribean native of Port-au-Prince Haiti, currently residing in Pittsburgh, PA. She continues to show her truecolors and shines in all aspects of her career; she clearly has the work ethic needed to make it. Don’t let me tell you about her, get to reading, she’s got it right: “Got to be Grade A“
From the moment Tiger crashed his whip in November and proceeded to lose all of his side beats in the process, I’ve remained steadfast in my support for Eldrick. Not support for his infidelity or that dumbass voicemail and those freaky ass text messages he was sending jumpoff #7. Those things, well, those things were just plain stupid.
When it all boils down, none of that stuff is my business. The fact he cheated with “x” amount of women makes me no difference in the world. Take that up with Elin. As long as he continues to win tournaments, Read the rest of this entry »
First things first, please allow me to hand in my “Late Pass” for not posting this mixtape sooner. The scene over here at Grade A has been kind of crazy this past weekend. Nonetheless, that’s no excuse so Monday morning the hammer goes down on the grind yet again.
One person who has certainly been grinding thus far in 2010 is none other than DJ Marvalous. Whether you’ve been seeing him on the scene in the hottest clubs in the DMV or just following his movement here at Grade A, I’m sure you’ve taken notice. So it should come as no surprise that he has graced the world with his third compilation so far this year. “Martians Ball” continues DJ Marvalous series with the homies over at Dimes and Nicks who also have an emerging clothing line called Centsless that you’ll be seeing more of around here very soon.
DJ Marvalous is without a doubt making a name for himself in this mixtape game with thousands of downloads from coast to coast. Shamelessly, I keep telling him he should charge for the Grade A #CERTIFIED Crack he keeps serving ya’ll. But fortunately he maintains his “No Dress Code, No Coverage Charge” policy when it comes to mixtapes. So while it’s still FREE and the summer is steadily approaching download “Martians Ball” if you want something to play at the stop light, windows down, turned up real loud as the girls pull up beside you. Yeah, as my homie J. Tinsley said, “Not much compares to that feeling. Summertime, windows down, listening to that feel good music.”
Ms. Badu, I just wanted to let you know that we still Love you. We will always love you. Your style, your grace, your essence is all we have left of what’s real and true in this continually political music industry. Read the rest of this entry »
